The Outlawz Progressive Challenge for September

The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge Talk about last minute!!! This is certainly thatπŸ₯Ί. We had a gorgeous fall image to work with from Jan’s Digi Stamps (https://www.janmahew.com/) Aptly named “Signs of Autumn”.  Fall has arrived at my house!  Yesterday it was chilly instead of hot and I am loving it!

I sat and colored this with my Prismacolor colored pencils and soaked up the fall breeze!  I just fussy cut and glued to some patterned paper.  I inked the sentiment and popped it and the little butterfly on with foam dots.  I added some Gelatos to the butterfly. This lovely image really did all the work for me!   Come by and play with us at the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge in October!  See you there!

September 25th Leigh's Blog Hop Finale!

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰  I am posting this before bed just in case something prevents me from doing so tomorrow and missing the finale!  I  hope to get one more project finished but one never knows.
I heat embossed a piece of mixed media paper after running it through an embossing folder.  Next came some Distress Oxide Inks in shabby shutters and tumbled glass.  I stamped the floral design and sentiment on the same type paper.  The stamps are part of the Enchanted Garden free set in a Papercraft magazine.  I used Distress markers to color the floral sprig and inked the sentiment with the Distress Oxides.  I popped them both up with foam tape and layered them on some cardstock.  Thanks so much to Leigh for hosting this wonderful blog hop!  It has been a very hopeful ray of light to get up and know some awfully kind folks out there are creating and looking at what I created for the day!  Thanks, Leigh and to all the participants in the blog hop!

September 24th Leigh's Blog Hop

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰  Between hurricanes and allergies I have been a tad overwhelmed the last couple of weeks but time to sniffle on!  A quick journal page(s) tonight celebrating the fall(ish) weather we are having right now!  It may be gone tomorrow but I am enjoying it today!  These pages were all just papers and some elements from a patterned paper pad.  I did add some sticky foam leaves for some fun!

I cut some of the strips in half and used like washi tape and cut some photo corners out of some cardstock.  I sprayed the background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Mystic Malachite Vintage Spray before starting.  I love the magical color of this!

I used up bits and pieces of things on my desk like the die cut oval that I had sprayed with Distress Oxide Sprays for another project that went awry!  This was really just plain ole fun for me!  So... Happy Fall, Ya'll!

Ike's World Challenges September U is for Under the Weather

Time for the midway post at Ike's World Challenges for September and U is for Under the Weather or U can play Anything Goes! πŸ˜‹  As usual I kinda took the theme and went in my own merry way!  But that is the really great thing about playing at Ike's cause you can make whatever your heart fancies!   Here is my take on this one!

Is this not the most adorable unicorn in the whole world! This is Cute Unicorn by Ike's Art!  He is sorta above the weather I think and it looks like a wonderful place to be!  I printed a couple of copies out and one copy larger so I could use the clouds to trace on some watercolor paper.  I used watercolors and gelatos on the large clouds and let dry before fussy cutting them out.  I stamped some little stars with the same watercolor and the sentiment and stars are stamps from a papercrafting magazine so....freebies!  I colored up everything with Spectrum Noir markers and popped the rainbow and first layer of clouds on foam dots.  Then came the third? set of clouds on foam dots and finally the star of the show!  I used some packaging foam stuff that was thicker to pop him up over his lovely sky!  I hope you will come play with us this month!  It is always fun at Ike's World Challenges and there is a fab freebie image each month!  Hope to see you there!

I totally thought I had linked this to Leigh's Blog Hop but I hadn't so...here we go again!

September 11th Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰  Super excited for the new Cats Galore Collage and Senti set from LeighSBDesigns!  This has been such an fabulous Stamptember and so much more to come!  I am semi-proud of myself for my project for today!  It is a card and the images change when you open it!  I know, who would have thunk it??

It features some wickedly cute sloths from Jo Kavanagh Designs at Etsy.  This was a labor of love...meaning I had to shore up the thin green cardstock with some thick patterned paper AFTER putting the green one together.  Usually I would have just chucked it and forgot about it but I kept going and walah! I have a sliding panel card!  The sentiment was a stamp I picked up at one of the box stores and the sun rays at the top of the sentiment are from a Concord & 9th die set.  The moon I free handed and I stamped some Distress Ink stars.  Popped on some sequins and called this one finished!  For those wanting a wonderful tribute for today, Leigh has this touching image on the Inspiration Blog in the Freebie section.  I did some simple color in a paint program.  2020 has been a very challenging year for the world but we can survive this and be our best selves πŸ’—.

The Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes "Cats Sleep Anywhere"

I have wanted to play at the Outlaws Sunday Songs and Rhymes for ages and finally did it!  The poem or song?  not sure, for this week is "Cats sleep anywhere" and my kitty has been hopping on top of the dryer when I put the warm clothes on it.  So the line "In the cupboard, with your frocks-" was my starting point!

This delightful image was given by Angela on her blog Crafting with Jack.  I already had him printed up for Leigh's blog hop when I saw this challenge at the Outlawz Challenges.  I used my watercolor paints to paint him and his lovely bed!  I fussy cut and put the image on some craft foam before gluing him to the patterned paper.  I used a die cut doily to put on each end of the patterned paper before attaching the whole thing to some blue cardstock.  I have an old portable typewriter that doesn't work perfectly so I typed the lines from the poem on a scrap of paper that I stamped some tiny flowers on.  The A key refused to type lower case or upper case so I found my smallest A stamp and stamped it in...a little wonky, I might add!  The ribbon also jumped from black to blue?? no idea how or why but I like the look!  Thanks, Angela, for this lovely image!  I am also entering this into the following blog hop:

September 9th Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰   Super quickie tonight with two small stamps and one die cut!

A raven stamp  and "nevermore" stamp were the start of this.  I finally bought a mini MISTI and I totally love it!  I don't have the technique down pat yet but I tried masking to stack my ravens, stamping them with Distress Inks.  I was going to scrap it but decided a weird cut and the sentiment embossed in black would save it.  The door came to mind with the Nevermore theme and I could call it "Nevermore Door" :)  I have one Distress Oxide stamp pad in shabby shutters (I am always late to the party!) so it was dotted through some die cut waste cereal box cardboard.  Google eyes were called for.....on the door after layering on some orangey foil paper and the center raven.  Another fun make to play around with for the blog hop!

September 8th Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰  I bought the awesome Creative Stamping magazine a couple of weeks ago and it had tons of freebie stamps plus digital downloads from many, many companies.  This little sparkly unicorn (17 free digital images and papers in total!) is from Polkadoodles!

Nikky, the designer, gave some fab inspiration projects in the magazine and I drew on those for this make.  I splattered Arteza watercolors on a piece of mixed media paper.....drying between colors.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils before cutting with a rectangle die.  I fussy cut another copy of the image for the flower, horn, end of the die cut machine, and the glue bottles with paper stack.  I adhered them with foam squares.  Some Nuvo pen shimmers for the flower, horn, and her hair gave her just the right amount of sparkle!  I put some gloss medium on her eyelashes, scissors, labels, and parts of the die cut machine.  A white gel pen and some glitter were the finishing touches.  The paper behind the sentiment was also included in the free downloads!  I popped everything up on some foam strips and added some purple bling.  I edged with wilted violet Distress Ink.  Whew!  I gotta shortened these posts!  Happy Tuesday and see ya tomorrow!

POE Gnome September 6th Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop by LeighSBDesigns

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! πŸ˜‰  Wowzer, what a fantastical new release we got yesterday from LeighSBDesigns!   Poe Gnome is just adorable and pure fun!  I put the pedal down and got inky and crafty with Poe Gnome today!

I was saving this cool Funko Pop Edgar Allan Poe that Noel bought for me last weekend for the 31 Days of Halloween with Leigh.  But when Leigh revealed Poe Gnome early I decided my little Poe guy was coming to the party early to help show off my card!  The background stamp is from Lost Coast Designs and I embossed it black and used Distress Inks over that.  I colored Poe Gnome with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut the colored one and a blank image the same color, then glued them together.  I used a black Pitt brush marker and inked the edges when it dried.  I added some gold and white gel pen highlights here and there.  I cut a rectangle of craft foam smaller than the background and glued the background down for some dimension and stuck to the patterned paper.  Stuck that to some black cardstock and popped the cute little Poe on with foam tape.  I really, really love this image and it was a joy to work with!   Check out all of the new releases for STAMPtember at LeighSBDesigns AND join in the blog hop fun HERE!

I was inspired by another video tutorial of Jennifer McGuire's!  I had a blast figuring out the details on this one.  I colored the image with Prisma colored pencils and used the Nuvo shimmer pen for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs.  Leigh released the most fabulous, fantastic, awesome new POE GNOME today!  You have just gotta go see this one!  I have already nabbed him and will be printing him up tomorrow 😍  Check him out and join in the blog hop fun HERE!

I have been watching sooooo much Youtube and found Jennifer McGuire's videos.  I am learning so many things that are "new" to me!  That doesn't mean they are new at all but such fun for me!  This was my first experiment with a tunnel card.

I had a tough time trying to take a pic of the inside!  I used some freebie stamps from the Creative Stamping magazine issue 83.  The set is Enchanted Woodland.  It really is a fabulous stamp set and there is lots of inspiration in the magazine to get me started!  But the tunnel card is from one of Jennifer's videos and I don't have everything just right as you can see :)  I am happy with how it turned out and can't wait to try more!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend at home!

September 2nd Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop

This is Coffee Break by the Paper Shelter.  I am sad to say this was my only copy as the original was on one of my crashed computers :(  But I was really happy to see this one!  I  just added it to some patterned papers and stamped the sentiment with freebie stamps from a papercrafting magazine (will give the company name in tomorrow's post).  I added some bling on the corner and some Distress Ink on the edges.  We are headed into the most wonderful time of the year.....Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!  I am giddy with excitement!   Let's all stay safe and play at Leigh's!
