Ike's World Challenges August Mid-Way Post!

Is anyone else pinning for fall weather?  At my age I hate to rush the seasons but this summer heat has me beat!  Here we are at the mid-way point of Ike's World Challenges #147 Anything Goes with an option of Animals!  So to match the heat I am taking a safari trek to watch some giraffes!   These are from the Animal Silhouette Set by Ike's Art.  Ike is having to deal with a change in the Zibbett platform so we temporarily cannot link up to the images.  We hope the platform will be back operational soon!

I made the super cute giraffes a beautiful sunset sky with Distress Oxide Sprays and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.  The tree and leaves at the bottom are freebies from a papercrafting magazine.  I fussy cut the animals and the tree inking them with Distress Inks before gluing the tree to the background paper and using foam tape for the animals.  The sentiment is a stamp included in another papercrafting magazing layered on some patterned paper.  I hope you enjoyed our journey and can feel the wind sweeping across the grasses!  But now it is time for you to grab some crafty goodies and join in the challenge for August!  It beats cutting the grass, weeding the garden, any of those awfully hot and sweaty jobs outside!  Hope to visit your blog after you join the linky party at Ike's World Challenges!

Day 2 of the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop by LeighSBDesigns!

I wanted a gothic window so I tried to make one to cut out on the Cricut.  The fleur de lis design at the top is in honor of my beloved New Orleans Saints who just missed their second Super Bowl when they lost to Brady and Tampa Bay!  I won't even get started on all the reasons that is wrong since this is a Valentine Blog Hop!😓  Anyhoo, managed to cut out about the right thing with the Cricut so I would have a home for the gorgeous Gothic Rose by LeighSBDesigns!  I colored everything up with Prisma colored pencils and gave most of the rest of the card a spritz with Distress Oxide and another mystic spray that the name escapes me at the moment.

I printed the rose out of the Scratch Hearts Background also by our Leigh!  I am entering the 4th Annual Gothic Valentine Blog Hop hosted by LeighSBDesigns and you can click HERE to be carried away to the linky party and all the details of the blog hop!

September 24th Leigh's Blog Hop

This is a 2 month long "Anything Goes" hop that ends September 25th at 11:55pm pacific!  Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! 😉  Between hurricanes and allergies I have been a tad overwhelmed the last couple of weeks but time to sniffle on!  A quick journal page(s) tonight celebrating the fall(ish) weather we are having right now!  It may be gone tomorrow but I am enjoying it today!  These pages were all just papers and some elements from a patterned paper pad.  I did add some sticky foam leaves for some fun!

I cut some of the strips in half and used like washi tape and cut some photo corners out of some cardstock.  I sprayed the background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Mystic Malachite Vintage Spray before starting.  I love the magical color of this!

I used up bits and pieces of things on my desk like the die cut oval that I had sprayed with Distress Oxide Sprays for another project that went awry!  This was really just plain ole fun for me!  So... Happy Fall, Ya'll!

August 11th Stay Crafty @Home Blog Hop!

Leigh's blog hops are stress free...you play when you want and how much you want!  All the details are HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  The linky party is there, too! 😉  Today, a tiny kitty ready for Trick or Treat fun!
I found these two little stamps sold together at Michael's still in the store wrapper!  So I made a watercolor paper background about the size of an ATC and used some Lindy's Stamp Gang Mystic Malachite spray,  salty ocean Distress Oxide Spray, and some mopped up watercolor from my craft mat.  I stamped the kitty and sentiment on a manila folder and used some watercolor markers to color them up.  I fussy cut the kitty and glued on the ATC adding a little hill for him to sit on! 😸  I just opened my package of Arteza premium watercolors when they arrived at noon so I added the super bright colors to the kitty to spruce him up.  The sentiment is Distress Oxide spray, too.  I popped everything on a piece of black cardstock and added the paper clippy thing to finish!  Please take the time for yourself to craft, read, or do whatever you enjoy!  It is important for our health and well being during stressful times! See ya tomorrow!
I am adding this to Ike's Show Us Your Pussycats Challenge Blog #57 (Check out the wonderful freebie and leave a comment!)

Sparkle Cracked Bird from Lost Coast Designs New Releases

It's Wicked Wednesday ATC time and the challenge is to make it sparkle.  I just love these Cracked Critters from Lost Coast Designs and I thought she deserved to sparkle!   The background is metallic gelatos and DecoArt Shimmer Mist with some gold shimmer spray from Lindy's Stamp Gang on watercolor paper gessoed first.  I added some white clouds with gesso and my finger for the sky. The shimmer will not show up for anything on the camera but this thing shimmers, a lot!  I stamped the "Cracked Chicken"  on the ATC directly and then again on white cardstock and colored with gelatos and Inktense blocks used like watercolors and fussy cut.  The tag "Funky" is from another new release "Mis. Words"  which I use so often!  I stamped it on a piece of my spray catcher paper that had a fab golden shimmer and put on pop dots.

Don't forget that our challenge at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for this month is "Clean and Simple" emphasis on simple so why not come play with us?  To play go HERE  And our Facebook Challenge for Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda is still going on so follow the links below to find them and the details.  Also, don't forget that Dream in Darkness is "Anything Goes" oddities, weirdness, dark, steampunk, just no cute and you can enter you fabulous weirdness HERE.. Mixed Media Play

I got this wonderful stamp from Lost Coast Designs "Spread Your Wings and Fly" just for a mixed media make.  I used a cardboard canvas again but got it way to wet so it warped a bit on me.  I started with a layer of tissue paper so the inks could drain along the creases. I also added a stamped image from there called  "Silhouette Lady with Umbrella" because it reminds me of Mary Poppins who could fly, too!

I used a stencil from the Artist's Cellar from the "Cathedral Series" I believe.  I was so lucky to win 5 full 12 x 12 sets of their awesome stencils when I ordered from there this summer...so fab!  So some stenciling and some cardstock die cut wings and lots of DecoArt and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays with some gold acrylic rubbed over to highlight then shading around the two stamped images and the edges of the canvas.  Last thing was to splatter some white and blue fluid acrylics on wiping them off the main image which has some Prisma colored pencils on her dress and the butterflies.  Also added a bit of a piece of old jewelry butterfly with the colors of my canvas exactly on it!

I would like to enter this in STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge for September and use a stencil.
