Last Day of Egyptian Wonder Challenge

Just got back home after a quick trip to Gulfshores and Dauphin Island, Alabama, where we stayed at the Malaga Inn which is supposedly haunted!  Am I a believer in ghosts after the experience?  Nah😎. It was a beautiful old former home of two brothers in shipping who married sisters before the Civil War and built mirror town homes for their brides in Mobile.  Now I am sliding in with my second project for the June challenge at LeighSBDesigns!

I used the fantastic new Egyptian Wonder 3D Pyramid Make-a-Card SVG Cutz Set by LeighSBDesigns!  I also used the Hieroglyphics Background and inked with Distress Inks to cut my top layers out.  I also used some papers from the Egyptian Enigma Papers by Rosie’s Designs Etsy.  I decorated the inside of my card with fussy cut sections from the Hieroglyphics Background and sentiments from the Egyptian Wonder Senties Set.  The colors are true on the last three photos; I haven’t a clue what’s up on the top one!  Time to wind up Challenge #6 Egyptian Wonder at LeighSBDesigns!

Through The Craft Room Door June 21st Challenge!

It's time for Team A at Through The Craft Room Door Challenges to share some inspiration with images by the fabulous All Dressed Up Stamps!  I used the ultra cute Sleepy Time!  This little fox is so adorable and I loved coloring him up with Copics!

I made an H Pillar Card from a tutorial by Iced Images YouTube!  I used some night time mushroom paper and some moon patterned paper for the structure of the card.  The circle was part of the paper pad so I trimmed around it, fussy cut and inked all the edges with Distress Inks and attached it to the front pillars.  I had the DREAM stamp in my stash from when you could get stamps at Hobby Lobby for a couple of dollars!  I stamped the sentiment on another part of the paper pad and popped on foam dots.  Thanks so much to All Dressed Up for allowing me to play with this cutie and sponsoring the challenge this go round!  Come play with us for a chance to win two images from the store!  Hope to see you soon!

Journey into the Abita Springs Mystery House!

Noah tracked down this really cool mystery house in Abita Springs, Louisiana and we had to take a photography adventure there!  It is a curated collection of weird, odd and definitely things made in southeastern Louisiana!  When I say curated it is not the same as in an art museum but more than three lifetimes of hoarding anything that had an eye catching name, look or mystery about it!  I took a lot of photos on my iPhone and so did Noel and Noah was shooting film on a camera he had just gotten from Japan.  I decided to do a bit of arty type photography along with tons of pictures of the kids.

This one caught my eye because I could see myself happily painting and creating in this studio minus just a tad of the collections!  Bear in mind a lot of the signage is only meaningful to us down here.  This next one I really liked!
And yes my son made repeated remarks about the mystery house and my "collections" were a lot of hoarding going on!πŸ™‰  All in all we had a really good time with the exception of some nasty mosquitoes in the low lying area that were feasting on us!  Here are two of the oddity pieces and the kids!

This was a departure from my crafty side blog but I can see future projects in each photo!  And remember...They are among us!πŸ‘½

June Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenge!

I am super excited to be able to say I am part of the Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenge design team!  We have the pleasure of being sponsored by All Dressed Up this month and our theme is "In the Garden" with an optional twist to add a dragonfly!😊  We got to play with the adorable image "Little Gardener" by All Dressed Up Stamps!

I made a Diagonal Triangle Fold card using a tutorial by Iced Images YouTube.  I used a base cardstock and added patterned papers and printed the sweet little gardener out on white cardstock.  The square she and her wheelbarrow are on was mounted with foam tape to the patterned paper and adhered to the front top triangle for a nifty tab to open the card!  She is colored up with Copics and I added a fussy cut dragonfly from Clip Art Library!   Now it's your turn to have a play In the Garden with no sweat, no mosquitoes!  Don't forget the Dragonfly Award will be picked from those using the Optional Twist to Add a Dragonfly!

Egyptian Wonder!

New challenge and new collection release at LeighSBDesigns!   It's time for Challenge #6 Egyptian Wonder at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  Not only that fabulous June news but a brand new Egyptian Wonder Collection has been released!  That's twice the fun!  I had to do a quick Cricut project tonight!

I used the Papyrus Pyramid Card SVG Cutz to cut my card out using purple metallic for the top layer, vellum for the next layer and purple for the card base.  I used a senti from the Egyptian Wonder Senties Set!  In my rush to post tonight (Why? I was excited!) my top layer slid a bit to the side but the pyramids are old so stuff happens!  There is a fab video to watch the new releases and a sale going on now for new and past Egyptian designs so check it all out HERE!  I am linking my card to the Egyptian Wonder Challenge #6 at LeighSBDesigns and the linky party and details are HERE!
