TTCRD July 19th with JMC Designs!

Here we are in the middle of a scorching hot July where I live and ready for another challenge at Through The Craft Room Door!  We are sponsored by JMC Designs and I had the pleasure of working with the digital image "Harvey" from the collection Happy Campers!

I love camping and this little cute camper (which I know has an air conditioner!) would be the perfect place for a nice quiet getaway by the lake!
I colored Harvey up with colored pencils in bright happy colors!  I popped the image after trimming onto some patterned paper after inking all the edges with Distress Ink crackling campfire.  I made space for my tags (birthday wishes cut from a paper pad with ribbons added) with foam tape around it to make it a happy pocket!  The background is more patterned paper from the same paper pad also with the edges inked!  I added some white gel pen marks here and there and added a small pink pearl for the door knob.  You can't go wrong with any of the images from this collection is you want to send a smile to someone young or old!  We hope to see you at Through The Craft Room Door for this challenge which is Anything Goes and sponsored by the awesome JMC Designs!

Christmas in July at Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges!

Ah, the thought of crisp cool days (I am deliberately not thinking of those still very warm humid days!) and Christmas songs in the air make me giddy with glee!  At my age I can't really want to rush through any months as I am savoring each moment but I love Christmas and love snow so this month's theme was a delight!  Which brings me to my point!  The theme for July at Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges is Christmas in July!

I used the wonderful Christmas Post Box image by our fantastic sponsor this month, SheepskiDesigns!  A big thank you to them for sponsoring us and giving us these utterly delightful designs to work with!
I colored the image with colored pencils and fussy cut out.  I took a Gelli print paper and used a embossing folder that had holiday words to emboss it.  The fussy cut image was popped on that with foam dots.  The base layer is kraft paper with a ribbon run round it and tied in a bow.  I used a piece of distressed snowflake paper with random numbers counting down to Christmas and attached it to the kraft paper.  We do hope you will come play with us this month at Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges where the theme is Christmas with an optional twist to add a dragonfly to win the Dragonfly Award!  Come check all the fun out!

July The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge!

July is here and it is so hot outside! Yikes!  The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge is up and running in the Facebook group!   We are doing some renovating on our site as we go to Blogger for our challenges so stay tuned as we open our doors in August!  The Progressive challenge image for this month is provided by The Paper Shelter and is the Funny Sunflower!  Thanks to The Paper Shelter for this adorable image and sponsoring this month's challenge!

I used the colored version of this cute image and printed two copies.  I fussy cut the first one then fussy cut the butterfly, ladybug and snail to pop on top of the first layer with glue and pop dots for the center of the sunflower!  I edged the image with a black colored pencil and stamped the sentiment (from my stash) in black.  I inked the edges of the both of the background papers with Distress Ink.
