Dec. 20th Final Day of Tis the Season Blog Hop!

 What will I do to make my lazy self limp out of bed and craft now that it is the last day of the Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!!😱  Well, here we go with saving the bestest image for the lastest!

Merry Craftmas Sandy Oddleigh Wreath digital image by LeighSBDesigns!  I took the elements of the wreath and used them for the sketch elements for the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  The beautiful Val is hosting the challenge that ends Dec.  22 and is hosted by our totally fabulous Leigh at LeighSBDesigns!  I am horrible I tell you at sketch challenges!  I can go no farther than seeing each little component just as it is presented in the sketch!  Other talented folks can make out of the box, over the top from that same sketch and it amazes me!  But I had to play this one even if I knew it was gonna be simplistic I knew Sandy Oddleigh would make it sparkle!   I used the three paint tubes for the right hand embellishment and the Oddleigh Ink and ink blender for the left hand embellishment.  I colored everything with Prismacolor pencils and added some white gel pen highlights and some Golden high gloss varnish on the eyes, lips and metal pieces of the crafting tools.  This is one for Leigh's Tis the Season Blog Hop and the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

I forgot to link this one up when it published for Ike’s World Challenges so here it is now!  Ike’s Christmas/Anything Goes Challenge is still open so make sure you link up all these fabulous Christmas projects there, too!   LeighSBDesigns Tis the Season Blog Hop closes tomorrow so still time for a last minute play!  Check out all the fabulous designs available at LeighSBDesigns and Ike’s Art!  Both wonderful people have sales going on right now and you know you want more of their images!   I used Xmas Poinsettia and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  The background started out kinda muted and I inked with Distress ink around the edges and blended it toward the yellow ocher pencils.  Somehow it went pop out yellow on me again!  So I apologize for any eye strain!  Still catching up on commenting.  Sitting at the computer is killing my back so trying to do it from my iPad which means lotsa mistakes!

Susan has had so many lovely watercolor projects that have inspired me during this event!    So this is me tipping my hat to Susan🧑🏻‍🎄!  Nianiani did a gorgeous tutorial on these trees; her picture is totally fabulous! Nature really is not my strong point in painting but I had a go at it!  I am entering this in  LeighSBDesigns Holiday-tastic Tis the Season Blog Hop!  This is a play as little or much as you want blog hop and the rules, details, and kinky are HERE🥰. Dec. 14th Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

 I picked this cute little Mama Elephant stamp and die cut set up Saturday at Tuesday Morning.  It was super cheap (4.99) and I really loved it!  I made a tag using some papers and some mistletoe which much to my surprise I had not mistletoe stamp!   I "borrowed" some foliage from another stamp set I had and with some mowed lawn Distress Ink, shimmer spray, and some confetti I made up a sprig and attached a silver tie ribbon to it.  So now they are happily kissing under the mistletoe!

December 13th Tis the Season Blog Hop

Today is my late parent's 61st wedding anniversary 💖💕 and I just wanted to mark the day here on my blog.  I always asked them why the 13th!!! for a wedding and they simply said Daddy could get off of work on that day so the 13th and a Friday no less it was!  That has always taught me the lesson of not believing in superstition...but I will create using that theme cause it is fun!  I bought a Christmas cactus for their anniversary because we always had one or two or three in both our houses and sadly, I had neglected all of them and had none.  So now we have these little beauty!  

The cute trio flying through the snow was on my clipboard (real one, I don't know how to use a computer one 😋) since the summer and I cannot remember who the artist is!!  If you know would you leave that info in the comments below?  Just some simple colored pencil coloring and some papers from a mini set I bought years ago and all done!  And those gardening friends out there may notice I haven't repotted the plant yet...that is cause I wanted to see it bloom one time before I subject it to my green??? thumb!

And last of all, I painted this painting in acrylics in 2017 in memory of my parents, who both passed away in 2016.  It is from a tutorial by the awesome artist Ginger Cook on  Youtube.  I personalized it with the sign "P & J's Store" for my Daddy and Mama, Pat and Joe.  I won't apologize for being as old as I am and saying mama and daddy cause I am a southern belle and that's how we do it.  I added my name on another sign.  It was really a part of my healing process and though not perfect at all I do treasure it!  We used to travel little backroads enjoying the sights like little stores and antique or junk shops!

Noel has a completely white Husky dog named Luka and he spends most of his time begging his Nana (me) for treats and lolling about for pets with his tongue looking just like the picture above!  This was a watercolor tutorial by Nianiani and I did my best to alter him to be Luka.  I totally tore the right hand corner of the paper when taking the masking tape off!  Did I let that stop me?  Nope, so I am linking this to Leigh's Tis the Season Blog Hop!  (I mean what is glue for but to fix life's little mishaps?)

Dec. 10th Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

 I have been coloring a bunch of Ike's images (that's Ike's Art and she is having a super duper fantastic sale right now!) and sending lots of love to this marvelous artist who has a heart of gold and is one of the most steadfast friends I have ever known in "real" life or in this reality we call blog world!  This is not one of Ike's images...I didn't quiet get the finishing touches on those today but soon...!  But to "Believe" at this time of the year or anytime in family, friends, love, peace, happiness, faith or whatever brings you comfort is what makes Christmas for me.  So super simple die cut, a sentiment from that fab kit Gwyneth sent me, and some paper....that's it!

Here is another one of the Kit and Clowder Monthly Coloring Classes from 2019 that I worked on last week then promptly lost the fully colored image for 4 days!  Sounds a lot like me, doesn't it???  I used my Prismacolor pencils and made a sentiment in Photoshop and sprinkled some confetti for some quick road snow!   This is another one for Leigh's Tis the Season Blog Hop!

Winter Yeti by LeighSBDesigns has dropped into the nearest village to await the arrival of Santa Clause!  He is dressed up with the Very Yeti Christmas Festive Add-On Pack also by LeighSBDesigns!  The background scene is from a Kit and Clowder Monthly Coloring Class.  Everything is colored up with Spectrum Noir markers and layered on some doodle lines cardstock and snowflake embossed cardstock with chipped sapphire Distress Ink inked over the embossing.

December 3rd Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

This is another vintage postcard freebie from Stampington and I made this one for the Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge.  The prompt is the poem Winter! (author unknown) and this postcard had the skating couple (It's skating on lakes) and it just looks soooo cold (Winter is cold.)!  I used some more papers from the kit Gwyneth sent me gluing the layers down then using washi tape on the corners.  I inked the edges with Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Watering Can.

December 2nd Tis the Season Blog Hop with Leigh!

 A wonderful friend from Dragons Lair Designs (there is still a Facebook fan page I think and you can buy Janette's digital stamps and papers at Crafty Bob's) , Gwyneth, sent me a wonderful set of Christmas papers with adorable pets all the way from Wales a long time ago!  This precious little kitty all snuggled down for a winter nap just had to be used on a project!  I had a small notepad about 3 x 5 so I covered it with the papers and cut trim from the set to add to it.  I used a Concord and 9th round die to cut the kitty and used the tiny circle border the cut left to glue in the center of the book.  The sentiment I die cut and layered under a piece of kraft colored cardboard die cut and finished with some gold bling that looks really orange in the photo!  I am entering this in Ike's Show Us Your Pussycats Challenge #61 Meowy Christmas/ Furrything Goes 😸!  And, of course, the lovely Leigh's blog hop below!

Nov. 24th Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

It's Thanksgiving Eve for my family because my son has to work on Thanksgiving.  So the ham is baked, the banana pudding is made and the cornbread is cooked ready to make the dressing!  I am posting a quick make using a cute little snowman and friends by Hetty Clare Art!

I colored them up with Prismacolor pencils and layered them on some cardstock with clear stamped snowflakes covered with green Perfect Pearls and the blue cardstock stamped with silver snowflakes.

Hi, all!  I have been overseeing the painting of my kitchen and I forget how much of a job painting can be!  But hopefully we will be all set for Thanksgiving!

November at Ike's World Challenges!

 It's time for the midway posting of Ike's World Challenges!  The theme is White on White or Anything Goes!  couldn't be any easier now could it? 😉

I used the Xmas Fairy by Ike's Art!  She is a FREEBIE and one I always start printing out at this time of year!  I find myself going down one path with no detours for long patches of time in my crafting.   Realizing I was always worried about the amount of time something needed for coloring was occupying a lot of my brain cells, I decided to take a charming image and do very little or in this case very light coloring on it.  This fit into this month's optional theme for the challenge which was a double bonus!   I used the Cricut to cut the card pieces all in white and layered the letters three times for some pop up value.  I used Prismacolor colored pencils in light blue, light gray, and silver for the image and cut out.  I attached the fairy with foam squares and glued the letters on.  My daughter's name is Noel and right now she is in about the 7th day of the covid 19 virus.  This will go on her breakfast tray in the morning to hopefully cheer her up.  The virus is real so please keep yourselves safe as possible.  We hope to see you playing with us this month at Ike's World Challenges for November!  Remember, Anything Goes or play with some White on White!  I will be looking forward to visiting your blogs when you enter the challenge!

Nov. 13th Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

 Today I worked on one of my Kit and Clowder Coloring Bonus Classes from August - September 2019 (I think that is the right year).  I have wanted to color these autumn leaves since the class arrived and just never did.  So tonight I present some autumn leaves to wish you all a happy fall!

You receive a bonus coloring lesson each month when you are subscribed to the Kit and Clowder Coloring Classes!  I learn so much from Alyce and she is such a kind and helpful teacher!  I am still very much a beginner with colored pencils but I love learning and having a lovely image to make a card with when I am through!  Some cardstock, glue and Prismacolor pencils and I was all done!

Nov. 10th 'Tis the Season Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns

 And we are off on another two month long blog hop with LeighSBDesigns as our fabulous hostess!  So a brief recap of the last few days of October for me!  A hurricane hit us smack on and while power was being restored the next day my daughter got the results of her Covid-19 tests which was positive!  The Monday prior to this I had a biopsy at the dermatologists and she was not happy with the looks of the thing.  Happily I got the results of the biopsy today and it was benign!  To say I didn't get to have a very jolly Halloween would be safe to say!  Also, I am happy to say Noel has done well compared to so very many people who have had this nasty thing!  Her symptoms were on the milder side although she has been a very miserable and lonely dear.  She has been quarantined in her apartment outside my back door.  No, I didn't toss her out....she lives in the apartment my parents lived in at my house.  Thought I might need to make that clear!  I am going to craft all my nervous energy into this blog hop!

I drew this very simple sketch after watching a video by Nianiani's of watercolor Christmas cards.  I just used art journal paper for this cos I lost my watercolor paper and Arteza watercolors.  The quote from Charlie Brown's Christmas seemed to fit.  I have a little fake tree like the poor little one in the movie and it has a big red ornament on it.  I sketched the ornament and lights and had it all painted when I thought about the quote.

Oct. 27th the 31 Days of Halloween

 

We are staring down the barrel of another hurricane tonight!  I can barely believe it!  This one is possibly going to leave us in the west of its landfall but right now we are just waiting to see who goes to work tomorrow or how it will play out. 

I’m so inspired by all the amazing projects being posted everyday by you fabulous bloggers!  Leigh’s spectacular luminaries inspired me to tackle the Cricut and I have some small luminaries on my work table tonight !  A work in progress so to fill the void here is my Boo! Day 25 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop

My kids are teaching me how to use Procreate on an iPad.  They have not had an easy time of it but I have managed a few things!  Here is my very first accomplishments :)

 This image is by Oddball Art and is CCC124 Ghosts in the Mists.  These ghouls are already worried about the fact that more boos! are on the horizon it seems!  So to calm them down I gave them a good dose of glitter :)  It usually works for me!

This was an image my daughter did for me for Poe's birthday hop this year.  I decided to have a play with it in Photoshop.

I added the beginning of the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.  I used an antique page from Graphics Fairy and a steampunk paper by Dragon's Lair Designs. I am adding the image below if you would like to have it.

October 8th 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns

 We are storm watching again and this late in the season!  It looks like another bad hit for Cameron, Louisiana but we still are watching the local news for updates in the track.  Too much hot Gulf water and not enough cold fronts to really trust a big one like this until it is practically ashore.  So all of that to say really fast one tonight!
