8th Annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns!

 I am here for the finale of the Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop after being waylaid with the flu or whatever thingy is lurking about!  My assistants tonight are my tiny Poe and paperweight from Noah!   To give credit all around my new light box is a present from Noel!   So here is my Poe project!

First, when you are rushing and sick.....dabbing the glue with the fluffy tissues you have on the desk for your nose is not, I repeat, NOT the thing to do!  I did and got a rather fuzzy card but other than that it is amazing to me!  I love this design  Poe Frame Cards so very much!  I printed out two papers from the Classic Poe Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack for my last two layers to cut on and I can't wait to do this again slower and properly!  Perfect SVG file gave me a perfect cut!  I added the senti from Romancing Poe Collage plus 2 senties set on top of the second cut of the card's middle layer.  Fun, fun and thanks to LeighSBDesigns for this awesome Poe Collection of 2023!  All the details are here at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog where good things are happening every month of the year!  Happy Birthday, Edgar Allan Poe until next year!  Thank you, Leigh and Val for another awesome blog hop!

I had a snowscape in mind until I saw the gorgeous weather we had today!  It has been simply beautiful here the past two days!  Zero humidity (I don't know the actual number higher than zero I imagine but lower by far than it usually is here!)  So a clear blue sky and some little wildflowers became the watercolor background for this adorable little owl!  I colored him up with Copics, used Koi watercolors and stamped a sentiment from Crafter's Square.  Do come play with us at The Outlawz Festive Fridays Challenge!  Easey Peasey themes of Christmas and Anything Goes this time!

8th Annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns!

 Master Poe's birthdays are rolling around as fast as mine seem to these past few years and it is here for 2023!  Each year we join Leigh in celebrating Edgar Allan Poe's birthday with an epic blog hop!  Leigh just released a brand new Poe Collection and I was so happy to work with one of the designs today!

Sometimes I see something and an idea goes off in my old head and this was the results of that whole probably hilarious process happening!  I used the wonderful new design Conspiracy of Ravens (comes with 2 senties) and one of the sentiments and some rice paper bought long ago!  I wanted this page to look like something you might find in an attic that someone had saved and maybe mapped bits of articles together following a case from years ago!  Printing on the rice paper gave an old newspaper feel to the image and senti I thought.  I inked the background rice paper and bits from an old dictionary which I grabbed two wonderful word sets: barbed wire and coldblooded which the latter is covered by my awesome new desk paperweight!  Noah gave the paperweight to me and besides totally loving it I realized he does listen to my favorite repeat subjects it seems!   Check out the new Poe 2023 Collection by LeighSBDesigns!  It is awesome!  I am entering this at the 8th Annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns!

January 8th The Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes with Sherry West Art!

I was inspired by the thoughts of  "a brand new year"!  What is better than to continue a fabulous friendship into the new year!  I also liked the "Lots of new things to explore" as this little lovely image is spinning around exploring her gorgeous garden!

Itty Bitty Lovebug

I colored up everything with Copics and then fussy cut the little lovebug and attached her to the enchanted garden on a bottle cap tied to the background with a bit of string.  Now she can spin this way and that as she explores her garden!

Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges Birthday Party in January!

That's right!  Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges is one year old!  YAY!  To kick off the party we are playing with images from our wonderful sponsors from the past year!  I am having a play with some images by LeighSBDesigns and Pattie's Creations!

January 6th The Outlawz Festive Fridays Challenge with Patties Creations!

Thanks so much to Pattie's  Creations for sponsoring us this time at The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge where the themes are:

Christmas, Dragonflies, Use Green and Birthday!  You choose which to use or combine them all!

I almost used them all on my journal page!  Just missed some birthday fun :)  I used Snow Covered Lamp Post, Dragonfly 1 and a dragonfly from Dragonflies Fly!  I had an abundant crop of dragonflies this year from tiny, tiny to huge, huge!  Although the recent freezing weather has probably done them in, I decided I wanted my Christmas season to have them anyway!  I used Gelatos for my background after priming the page with white acrylic paint.  I added the images and my sentiment (I think I made that up but I could have read it somewhere!  Who knows???); I added white snow and lines with white acrylic paint.  I added the glow with a Gelato and some flecks on the senti, too.  Come along and play with us at The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge!

 

January 2nd The Outlawz Monday Greetings with Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

 Frosty fun with Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for this challenge, now monthly!, at The Outlawz Monday Greetings!  Our greeting this month is Winter Hello (any winter greeting) with a Twist of add some snow!  We survived our first single digit winter event starting a few days before Christmas going through to the Tuesday after!  Brrrr!  From the high forties to the low twenties in one day's span, this is something we are not used to in the deep South!  We are back to normal low fifties and raining buckets today!  My horse is saying she will take rain over freezing weather any day!  Back to the challenge at hand I had shivers down my spine as I played with Lonely This Christmas by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

I made a journal page with some paper from the Celestial Wonderland pack by Recollections.  I colored up the adorable image using colored pencils and Distress Ink for the background with some white acrylic snowflakes!  I used a sentiment from A Charming Christmas Compendium of Festive Sayings by LeighSBDesigns and added some acrylic paint snow on it.  I backed the sentiment with some sparkle paper!  We hope you will join us this time at The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge which is now monthly and the required greeting is Winter Hellos (any winter greeting) with a twist of add some snow!

January 1st The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge!

 Happy New Year's Day!  Thanks for joining us for the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge!  Our wonderful image this month is by our own Sandra!  Thank you, Sandra!  It is such a beautiful image!  I am still missing fall and although I love, love Christmas; I really love fall weather and fall leaves and fall....well, you get the point!

I chose my colors with a fall palette in mind.  Two brand new fall paper pads have been taunting me since I didn't have time to open them up!  So here are the papers from one pad with a sentiment from a magazine freebie.  I colored up the image with colored pencils and fussy cut out.  Hope to see you at the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge this month!
