Some Cheeky Cats!

 I pulled out all of my acrylic painting stuff and got it kinda set up by the recliner so I could or would start painting again.  The back is gone again!  I had an MRI Tuesday and have my follow up with my neurosurgeon Thursday.  Long and short of it, I am not very mobile right now.  So painting I have been doing!  This little 5 x 7 canvas is the result of The Art Sherpa’s wonderful teaching and it seems perfect for Ike’s SUYP Cat Lovers’ Challenge!

Their personality conflict makes them totally perfect for each other!  Even the little flying bugs are feeling their love!  Nothing but canvas and acrylic paints on this one and off it goes!

Feb. 16th Gothic Valentine Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

Sob!  It’s the last day of the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop!  On the bright side I managed to participate every single day!  I even got to run into Hobby Lobby for some red cardstock and some Distress Oxide full size pads at 40% off after leaving Noel’s surgeon’s appointment!

I had a play with the  gorgeous Raven Gothic Window SVG and my new pack of various shades of red cardstock and my brilliant glitter paper!  I used a sentiment from the Dark Sentiments Set 1 which is also by the fabulous LeighSBDesigns that I printed out on a pale pink and inked with crackling campfire Distress Oxide. I could have gone more gothic by using black and the reds with no glitter paper but I leaned into a bit of a lighter mood to show my hope that poor Poe’s happiness in love has been found! Feb. 15th Gothic Valentine Blog Hop with Leigh!

 It’s the third day of the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop!  I made an ATC after some awesome inspiration from Val and Susan using Leigh’s Distress Heart!  I used the Heart Splatter on my ATC!

I started in Procreate with a background paper by Gecko Galz and added the Heart Splatter and a sentiment from A Wicked Compendium of Halloween Sayings by LeighSBDesigns!  After adding a bit of dispersion on the right side of the heart I exported it out of Procreate and printed it out.  Sadly, my printer is still running out of ink and I can’t find any place that has it in stock so the quality is poor.  I inked some journal paper with Distress Inks trying to get a red (out of red cardstock in February…unbelievable!) and added a red Gelato on top of that with red Perfect Pearls to try to deepen the red.  Off we go to the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns!  All the details and linky party are HERE!

Feb. 14th Gothic Valentine Blog Hop with Leigh!

 Happy Valentine’s Day!  Today I am continuing my “tour” of my 2022 Poe Gothic Romance Book!  I did manage to get the light box and light ring set up for some photos that still showcase my remarkably bad photography skills but here goes!

                                                         

So pages three and four are constructed the same way as the cover, page one and two but  this photo does show where I glued the top layer of the letters to the backs for a finished look.  There is an addition of some bling on these pages, too!  I inked the edges of the poem and the image of Annabel Lee 1 by Ike’s Art with some Mystic Malachite by Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprayed on the poem after printing.  The acetate is really glaring but at least you know it is there??? ;)  This is the end of the book or is it?😈👻

Nope, it wasn’t!  This is Poe Love by LeighSBDesigns and I colored it digitally in Procreate then inked with Distress Ink.  That IS the end of my ode to Poe’s love stories or tragedies for 2022!  I really do hope Poe found peace and love in the afterlife so Happy Valentine’s Day, Master Poe!  This goes to the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns and all the details and linky party are HERE!

Feb. 13th Gothic Valentine Blog Hop with LeighSBDesigns!

 Today is the beginning of the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns! I missed the majority of the Poe Appreciation Blog Hop in January so I had to embrace the truly gothic romances of Edgar Allan Poe this month!  And what a great time it was for me!

Leigh released some awesome SVG/Cutz  Poe designs for 2022 including this totally amazing Poe Book!  I used Tangled Raven on watercolor paper and Arteza watercolors for the front.  The book is made with black cardstock, bug cardstock, bug acetate on light purple cardstock for the pages on the right side and glitter cardstock.  

On the inside front page I just copied a verse of a poem about Poe’s love for Elizabeth right from my big book of Poe’s collections.  I wanted an old paper look so I didn’t edit anything out and inked the edges with Distress Ink.  The bug printed acetate is layered over the light purple cardstock on the pages with the glitter letters.  To go with “From An Album” I put together three of Ike’s Art’s fantastic Poe images in Procreate and colored them there, too.  I used Arch Scene Poe, Free Poe Raven Paper and Candle Poe by Ike’s Art.  I procrastinated over taking the photos and ended up per usual rushing and not having my lights set up so here’s hoping I can get one of the smarty pants kids to help me get some decent photos tomorrow!  The next page and back tomorrow!  So here this goes to the Gothic Valentine Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns and all the details are HERE!

Let Love Bloom February Challenge at LeighSBDesigns!

Time for challenge number two for 2022 at LeighSBDesigns and the theme is Let Love Bloom!  I had a play with an older favorite Oddleigh  Cherished Heart and Once Upon a Starry Night SVG!

I had a blast creating this large shaker card using some package plastic and some heart and sequin confetti!  After printing the cute Oddleigh Cherished Heart on white cardstock, coloring with Copics and fussy cutting out, I glued her to a light pink piece of cardstock cut to the size of the Starry Night SVG cuts.  I added foam strips around the edge forming the area for my confetti and after pouring it in I attached the plastic and then glued the top two layers down.  I love how she sparkles and shines! February at Ike’s World Challenges!

It’s time for Ike’s World Challenges #153 Anything Goes with an Option of Valentine’s Day!  I worked with Ike’s Art’s Stitchy Cats!  My mom had a ceramic shop for years and the craze for a few years was ceramic stuffed animals just like these two kitties!  It made me so happy having a play with this delightful image!

I made my sentiment in Procreate and used some papers from a travel paper pad.  I colored up the kitties with Copics and fussy cut them out.  A few foam dots, a box and some shiny hearts and it was done!  I hope you can play with us this month at Ike’s World Challenges!  We can’t wait to visit your blogs and leave you some Valentine’s love!
