July 12th Christmas in July Blog Hop with Leigh!

Today I have a little guy I worked on intending to use him for the May blog hop.  Time being what it was he just got put on the back shelf and left all alone.  So here is my Poe Panda (a very beginner digital stamp that I made all by myself!)😊  He is all decked out for Christmas borrowing some accessories from Leigh's  A Very Yeti Christmas Festive Add On Pack! 

Poe Panda is ready for the holidays with feather in hand for signing gift tags or penning the odd verse or two while waiting for the big day!   Still  using the stuff I grabbed the other day, I colored the images with markers, adding some sparkles and a big star with some rediscovered Christmas paper.  I am adding my Poe Panda below if anyone wants to grab him!

Gecko Galz Monthly Christmas Challenge

 Gecko Galz Monthly Christmas Challenge is so much fun to play with!  They give you a gorgeous vintage image to play along with and I love them!   This month's image reminded me so much of a photo I have of my Mama when she was around 5 years old and part of the writing at the top of the image included the word "Noel", the name of my lovely daughter!  
So I had to create something now didn't I?

I used Procreate to add the vintage image onto a background by Pexels on Pixabay.  I used different brushes to create some lights and a star on the tree and to flare out the ribbon a bit.  Some washi tape effects and confetti sprinkled lights added to the beautiful bokeh effect the background had originally.  The final touch was adding Noel on a strip of washi tape.  This was really relaxing and calming working on this...kind of quiet reflection time.

July 7th Christmas in July Blog Hop!

Still using the box of stuff I grabbed to craft with from yesterday I made some fun Craftmas ornaments or gift tags.  I love  Sandy Oddleigh and all the pretty images that can be used with her!  I used the Craftmas Collage image and made my circles in Photoshop.  

I used the Christmas ATCoin Swap Label for LeighSBDesigns for the backs.  I still haven't gotten a 2 1/2 inch circle punch or die (it slips my mind until I am miles away from a store and NEED it!) so I cut these with my only circle die which is 3 inches I think.  Of course to make the white space around the ornaments not a mistake I am saying I wanted to use the spot light technique on these.  To be honest I really did end up liking the way they turned out!

To jumpstart my missing summer heat fatigued mojo I grabbed an assortment of stuff and sat down to have a go at it!  I pulled a bunch of gelli prints and ran through the embossing folders.  Then a Christmas paper pad and an unopened Downton Abbey die cut came together with a circle and star from Tim Holtz.  I glued my Merry Christmas Cityscape onto more papers from the pad and added some gold shimmery string to the second layer.  Mission accomplished with enough background papers embossed to start work on tomorrow!

June Midway Ike's World Challenge

June is here and hot so why not retreat to the craft room and have some fun?  Then, of course!, drop it at Ike's World Challenges HERE for a chance to win a happy and have us come by your blog for a glass of ice cold tea!  June is known for weddings although why anyone would want to brave these hot temperatures that we have here bewilders me!  (I have also put no wedding months in my daughter's upcoming nuptial planning!)  Excuse my wandering thoughts and back to the challenge!  I love the  Wedding Cake at Ike's Art and have wanted to work with it for ages!  My plans for a paper pieced project were smashed when I realized it was the LAST day to post my make!  Procreate swooped in like the hero and I was able to use a background of marbled paper that I had made and saved months ago!  Then I loosely colored the image in Procreate and yes, I did want the cake green :)  

So here we sit waiting for the next opportunity to visit a wonderful blog and I hope it is yours!

Day 1 of the Bubbly Depths Blog Hop presented by LeighSBDesigns

I painted 6 cereal boxes cut down with acrylic paints trying to make each layer a slightly different ocean color!  I spritzed some Distress Oxide Spray and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon spray on some watercolor paper for the shark and starfish.  I added some gray watercolor over the shark to give him some umph!  I inked around the circle with mermaid lagoon Distress Ink.  A bit of green glitter glue gave the starfish some shine.  I took the photo against the watercolor paper that was left over and decided I like the way it looked all together!  Happy accidents forever, Bob!

All of the elements are in the Bubbly Depths Bundle including a rectangle tunnel, net, and the shark's pals....another shark, 5 fishes, and a mermaid silhouette!

May 30th Leigh's Blog Hop!

 Gosh and Gee!  I have been reclaiming my pool after about 5 years and it is whipping me and my good intentions and keeping me from participating as much as I wanted to in the blog hop!  Hopefully when I am able to cool off during what promises to be another hot one down here it will have been worth it!  I grabbed a delightful image from The Paper Shelter, Halloween Rules and used the colored version and the background that was included.  I don't do this very often but I wanted to play these last two days!

I printed both layers out and fussy cut the crow and pumpkin adding some Glossy Accents on the eyes, flame, and tongue!  I also added a touch to the spooky windows on the background layer.  I glued the background layer to some cereal cardboard and popped the top layer on with some foam tape strips.  These guys really believe like we do that Halloween Rules!  This goes into the Cherry Blossom Mer-Ween Blog Hop hosted by LeighSBDesigns!
