Creative Inspiration Challenges with Kate Hadfield Designs!

March is screaming through most of the United States causing blizzards for the northern states and tornadoes, rain, high winds and lots of thunderstorms in my area!  I got lost in craft world playing with When Knights Were Bold Stamps by Kate Hadfield Designs!  Kate is such a fantastic sponsor for our challenge and we adore her and her awesome designs!  Thank, Kate! ❤️

I created a blue background cardstock by matching the blue stripes from the freebie set Winter Wishes found in the VIP Doddle Den at Kate Hadfield Designs that I wanted to use.  I used the bugle, and two of the shields from the set, coloring them then adding them to my solid blue cardstock in Procreate.   The castle and darling knight and horse were colored in Procreate, printed out and fussy cut before attaching to my background.  I used the Old Type Alpha Set (also a freebie at the VIP Doodle Den) assembling the letters in Procreate the printing and fussy cutting to make my sentiment.  This cute set could be used to make some awesome play sets for children, wonderful scrapbook pages either physical pages or digital and tons of cute cards for the special little knight in your life!
We really look forward to seeing you at Creative Inspiration Challenges #24 this month!  It’s always Anything Goes and always inspirational and fun!

Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone

It’s definitely turning spring here at my house!  The most wonderful thing about this time of year is that I can sit in my hammock chair on my porch and read!  Not too hot, not too cold….just right!  Goldilocks weather for sure!  So I needed more bookmarks and it’s time for the Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone Challenge so this happened!

One of our good friends and a super sponsor at the Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge is Kate Hadfield Designs!  Kate’s store, blog, freebie and VIP Doodle Den can be found HERE ๐Ÿ˜Š  You can easily stay and be inspired for the longest time!  I absolutely LOVE Kate’s designs and how easily I can use them with my iPad and Procreate or print on paper and cut out the designs for projects!  Scrapbooking, journaling, card making, tags, treat toppers…..oh my!  Anywhere your imagination takes you!  I used a freebie kit “Bits and Pieces” from the Doodle Den (just sign up and receive Kate’s news letter and you get the password to the Doodle Den).  I used Procreate to create my bookmarks and printed out to some cardstock.  I cut them out to size and punched the holes then threading some thin strips of fabric that matched the colors of my bookmarks.  Easy as pie and perfect for some spring time book reading!

Our theme is Anything Goes this month and your only thing not to make is a card!  Remember this is the Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone! :)

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️๐Ÿ’Œ

I’m joining in the 8th Annual Gothic Valentine Blog Hop at LeighSBDesigns!

This is a mixed media project using an incredibly fabulous Victorian Valentine from the Graphics Fairy!  I wanted to get into my acrylic paints again so I used some reds and pearlescent golds to make a loose frame.  I also painted the hearts and corners of the image before adding some textured paper and attaching it to the back.  All of the details and linky party for the blog hop can be found HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!

Creative Inspiration Challenges with LeighSBDesigns for February ๐Ÿ’•❤️

Here we go with another challenge at Creative Inspiration where it’s always Anything Goes and our beautiful sponsor for February is LeighSBDesigns! ๐Ÿ˜ป.   A big thank you to Leigh for sponsoring us this month!   I had the ever so delightful time creating with Alice - Slimline Digi Stamp from the brand new Loveleigh Kitties in Wonderland Collection by LeighSBDesigns!

I made an upright diamond fold card following a tutorial from Beccy’s Place!  I colored Loveleigh Alice kitty with a combination of markers and colored pencils.  The papers are from a digital paper pack by Bum Fuzzie Boutique, Etsy.  I loved the slightly grunge vintage look of the papers.  The senti is also by LeighSBDesigns from the Wonderland Senties a set of 7 senties for all your Wonderland makes!  I made my sentie into a belly band that holds my diamond front and fits over the image that is popped on with foam squares!

Above here is the inner bits of the card where I had a bit of bother fitting my patterned paper to the bones of the card which is  one piece of card stock with only one cut and that kinda boggles my mind! ๐Ÿ˜

Monday Greetings Challenge with LeighSBDesigns for February!

At Monday Greetings Challenge this month we are so happy to have LeighSBDesigns sponsoring us in February!  Our required greeting is Wonderful Greetings with the optional twist to add some wonderful blues!  LeighSBDesigns has the most wonderful (I did use the word intentionally!) new collection for February....Loveleigh Kitties in Wonderland!! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Our design team had an adventure playing with "Alice - Slimline Digi Stamp" from the new collection!  As a long time fan of Alice in Wonderland (I gave Noel an Alice themed 21st birthday party with giant flowers and multi-tiered cake that was exhausting but ever so fun!) I couldn't wait to jump in and start playing with this delightful image!  I colored her with colored pencils and fussy cut and inked with brown Copic marker that got out of hand so easily!  I made a diagonal double pocket card following a tutorial at Beccy's Place!   She has so many card tutorials that just browsing down the page can inspire you!  I used some vinyl lace tape I scored in Japan in 2017 to enforce the fold and added Alice to the front with foam tape.  I printed the sentie from Wonderland Senties on to one of the papers with the script and backed it with another of the papers from the pack before popping on foam tape to adhere.  I edged everything with Distress Ink.

I used a digital paper pack from Frou Frou Craft, Etsy appropriately named Alice in Wonderland!  I wanted a lot of Wonderland nonsense to abound and this paper pack allowed that to happen!  The picture below is with the tags removed.

And of course here are the tags with their senties from the new collection Wonderland Senties by LeighSBDesigns!

Then after all that cover pockets goodness it open like a regular card!  This whole base is made from one sheet of paper with one cut!  Hard to believe but true!   I plan on using one of Leigh's Wonderland Quotes in here!

I hope to see you at the Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge for February!  Come play for a chance to win a gorgeous prize from LeighSBDesigns!  Remember to be in the drawing to win you must use the required greeting (any type of wonderful/wonderland greeting be it birthday, hello, miss you, etc.)

Progressive/Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz!

A big thank you to Anne’s Art for giving us this adorable teddy bear this month!

I colored this cutie up with colored pencils!  I printed out some hearts from a freebie Heart Treat Holder by Homemade Gift Guru.  I didn’t make a treat holder but used different sized heart designs from the page.  I made my sentiment in Procreate and you can grab it down below if you’d like!  Fussy cut the teddy bear added foam dots for each layer inking the edges with Distress Ink including the sentie words before attaching.  I added a ribbon for hanging and a pink heart embellishment and it was ready to bring a smile!  Come join us at the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge for February!

Outlawz ATG in a Card Free Zone!

We have finally thawed out here in the South!  So much snow and it stayed all fluffy and gorgeous for days!  Of course we weren’t prepared and the temperatures had us frozen and bundled up like Alaskan explorers!

So I can be forgiven for still being in a snowy frame of mind as I share my snowman can!  I also love that it rhymes! ๐Ÿ˜‚❄️

I was inspired by Deanne’s lovely altered can last month!  My snowman is made from air dry clay and painted with acrylic paints.  I designed a wonky snow patterned digital paper to wrap my can.  I used hot glue to attach everything.  His “arms” are two branches from my poor frozen azalea bush!  I added some crumpled tissue paper for snow and some presents because my snowman is always in Christmas mode!  I hung a little red ornament on his twig arm for fun!  This was a totally fun project from start to finish!  I am adding my Wonky Snowflakes digital paper below if you would like to have it!

Please join us at the Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone this month!  Remember, no cards!

LeighSBDesigns Winter Wonderland or Anything Goes Challenge!

After experiencing the largest snowfall in the Deep South in well over a hundred years, I am finally defrosting enough to get the old crafty bones moving again!  The SNOW limited my POE Appreciation Month Blog Hoping time at LeighSBDesigns!  Did you see what I did there? ๐Ÿ˜. Luckily for me I can still share some Poe love in the monthly challenge which is Winter Wonderland of Anything Goes!

Leigh has added two brand new designs to her Poe design library and they are Raven Tree Silhouette and Raven Tree Slimline Silhouette!  Both are very Poe worthy and I used the Raven Tree Silhouette design for my project.

I layered the image on top of a paper from the Classic Poe Grunge Digital Paper Pack fussy cutting it and layering on black cardstock.   I cut out the letters for POE using the “POE” Raven and Classic Font Word SVG and Cutz Set by LeighSBDesigns.   The background layer was cardboard painted with acrylic Quinacridone Gold Hue letting it almost dry before spraying with Distress Micra sprays.  I colored some white cardstock scrap with red markers and topped with a gloss gel medium for some shine for under the raven’s eyes.  I made a frame from orange glitter cardstock and made a flower sorta kinda out of vellum that I printed two pages from Edgar Allan Poe Forgotten Tales scored at a second hand bookstore.  I propped it up on the frame with a leftover “O” in the raven font.  Hopefully this will restore me in the eyes of the Poe fan club!!  Still time to play in the Winter Wonderland or Anything Goes Challenge at LeighSBDesigns!

Poe Blog Hop

January 19, 1809 was Edgar Allan Poe’s birth date.  Each year we celebrate his birthday at LeighSBDesigns annual Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Month and Mini Blog Hop!  It is a a much anticipated celebration of Poe and his literary works and this is the 10th year that Leigh has hosted the event!  A decade of Poe appreciation and fun!

Leigh has tons of Poe designs in her shop and has two brand new images added for 2025!  I used Raven Tree Slimline Silhouette on my little table top panel decoration!  I also used a paper from the Classic Poe Grunge Decorative Digi Paper Pack by Leigh for my background.  I added a strip of water color strokes behind the Raven Tree in Procreate to add my sentiment and added the background Poe Grunge paper enlarging it to get it to show the Raven Tree properly.  I used black soot Distress Ink on all the edges of the panel decoration before layering them up.  I borrowed Leigh’s POE-tastic hinge idea and cut mine out of the same black cardstock twice then attaching it to the back of the panel.

Panel tabletop decoration all finished

The back hinge stand

This photo was just me playing around with the flashing mode of my ring light ๐Ÿ˜
There is still a wee bit of time to enter the blog hop for Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Month and the monthly challenge Winter Wonderland or Anything Goes is open through January 31st at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  So grab a sweater and finish this most chilly month with crafty friends!

The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge

Happy New Year! ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿฅณ   This month’s sponsor for our challenge is Sherry West Arts and we want to give a big thank you for our delightful image!   I fell in love with this little piggie immediately!

I colored the little pig with colored pencils and added white gel pen accents.  I then added him to my background layers in Procreate.  I had fun adding some fireworks and the sentiment to brighten my digital card!  Now we would like to see how you had fun with this delightful image so drop off your projects at the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge!

Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone at The Outlawz!

Time for our first challenge of 2025 and it is Anything Goes with a theme of  Try Something New.  You have to follow the theme in order to qualify for any prizes and remember no cards!  My something new was to make a booklet out of some of my acrylic paintings.  The paintings aren’t new but binding my pages for a booklet this way was new for me!  This booklet is very special to me as I followed The Art Sherpa on YouTube for all of the paintings and Cinnamon Cooney, The Art Sherpa, passed away suddenly in the early part of this month.  My thoughts, prayers and love are for her husband, three children and her mother, Ginger Cook.  I had never painted a painting in any medium before I found Cinnamon’s YouTube videos sometime around 2016.  I know I would have never had the love I now have for acrylic painting if I had not found her!  She was an absolute joy as a teacher and cheerleader for everyone that followed her!  This little booklet is dedicated to her.

Each canvas is a little bigger than ATC size.  I originally painted these small versions of these paintings for zine I was planning on making.  The original paintings I had done on 8 x 10 canvases for the most part.

I plan on adding the original air dates of the tutorials on the opposite pages with any other information I want to include.

Here at the Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone we hope you will join us and play along!

Monday Greetings Challenge for January!

Happy Happy New Year!  At the Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge we are starting the new year off nice and easy with an Anything Goes Greeting and Anything Goes Optional Twist!  I had an AI image from Google (free version) using the prompts Christmas village, trees and train left over from some playing around a did in November.  And as my Christmas tree lights are still blazing nightly and Christmas movies and music can be heard from my house still!) I thought this cheery little winter scene was still absolutely valid for January!

I used the lighted trees for my back layer that came from Pixabay.  I will add the artist's link when I remember which notebook I added it to!  ๐Ÿ˜ฑ  I added the kitty at the window watching the train and the sentie is from Xmas Cat Tree Senties from the Festive Felines Loveleigh Kitties 2024 Christmas Collection by LeighSBDesigns!   Using Procreate on my iPad made it easy to add some snow flurries to the scene!  I hope you will all join us at the Outlawz Monday Greetings and help start our new year off the right way with lots of wonderful projects to comment on!

Creative Inspiration Challenges with All Dressed Up Stamps!

Happy New Year!   We are ready for a crafty new year at Creative Inspiration Challenges for January with our sponsor All Dressed Up Stamps!  Thanks so much to them for sponsoring us and their continued support of our challenge!  Please check out their shop at Etsy and see all the awesome images!  I had a play with Bushy Tail and and Birthday Monkey!  I love squirrels and have dozens jumping through the oak trees on my property all year round!  I spend hours just sitting on the front porch watching them be so industrious and calm at the same time!

I colored Bushy Tail with markers first then gave some texture and defining with my colored pencils.  I added some white gel pen for some highlights.  I made a hexagon pop up card following a tutorial at Beccy’s Place A - Z Cards.  This was such a fun fold card to do and I only had one mistake worth mentioning but I am remaining silent! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next up was Birthday Monkey!  What a hilarious little guy!  Still following Beccy’s Place card tutorials but this time a spring fold card!  I colored him the same way as the ๐Ÿฟ️ but encountered a problem when I decided to add green glitter tempura paint to my green panels after gluing them down!  I knew as I did it there was going to be some warping and bubbling but I kept right on going!  There is a moral to that story!  I still love the spring up element of the card and this adorable little monkey makes it fun!

Now I am going to sit back and visit your blogs as you enter your FAB-tastic projects!  Join us at Creative Inspiration Challenges for January!
