Celebrating Cats, Cherry Blossoms and Japan!

 I love this month's challenge theme at LeighSBDesigns!   It is all about Celebrations and I am always ready and happy to celebrate every single thing about most of my days!  Todays project has a basic cherry blossom theme and in Japan, cherry blossom season is celebrated with picnics under the falling blossoms with family and friends!  The next theme of my card is all things Japan!  I love the people, the sights and sounds of trains, Mt. Fuji and the food but the people of Japan have always made my trips there so pleasant and memorable!  Then we come to the cats and we know how many cat lovers there are out there!

Super Cute Kitties by Jen L.

Super quick post using a freebie at The Outlawz Challenges by DT Jen L. 😸   I made a center pop up step card from a tutorial by Iced Images YouTube (I modified it).

I colored the kitties with colored pencils and used a sentiment tag from a paper pad!  My modification made this a non-standard envelope size but that's ok with me!  I am entering this in The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge Anything Goes Optional Twist Furry Friends!

Challenge #4 LeighSBDesigns Celebrations!

It's party time as we approach the 5th birthday of LeighSBDesigns!  It's also time for Challenge #4 with a theme of .....Celebrations!  Now be it birthdays, anniversaries, cats, dogs, spring, you name it and you can celebrate it!  So I give you Cats Galore from LeighSBDesigns and sentiment with an added word!

I needed something to elevate my card in the photo box and it seemed appropriate to use one of my favorite author of the wonderful "The Cat Who" series!  I did my own version of a z-fold card and in this pic the fabulous kitties were too shadowed!

Kiss Me Glorious Green Challenge #3 with LeighSBDesigns!

This jaunty kitty is a freebie by Ike's Art!  Isn't he just full of himself?😹

I used an easel card pattern from the Butterfly Challenge Blog.  I used lots of greens in cardstock and designer paper for the bones of the card and inked with mowed lawn Distress Ink.  I used Ike's St. Cat-rick's Day image which is a freebie on the SUYP Cat Lovers' Challenge!😻  I used the sentiment included with the image (it also has two others) and cut into a flag and added one of the clover from the clover cluster included in LeighSBDesigns' Paddy Balleigh Monster Set.  I added the cutesy face in Procreate.  I used Copics, Crayola green glitter paint and gold acrylic paint for all the details.  I am entering this at Ike's SUYP Cat Lovers' Challenge for March and

Some Cheeky Cats!

 I pulled out all of my acrylic painting stuff and got it kinda set up by the recliner so I could or would start painting again.  The back is gone again!  I had an MRI Tuesday and have my follow up with my neurosurgeon Thursday.  Long and short of it, I am not very mobile right now.  So painting I have been doing!  This little 5 x 7 canvas is the result of The Art Sherpa’s wonderful teaching and it seems perfect for Ike’s SUYP Cat Lovers’ Challenge!

Their personality conflict makes them totally perfect for each other!  Even the little flying bugs are feeling their love!  Nothing but canvas and acrylic paints on this one and off it goes!

Cat Lover's Hop & Oct. 7th Catch Up!

Today I wrote down a journal page dictated by Ichigo, my cat!  Was I surprised to hear what he was up to last night!!

I used a journal page for the background from the Frightfully Delightful Digital Junk Journal Kit by Gecko Galz!   The not so frightful but utterly delightful cat image is from the Black Cat Collage Set by Gecko Galz!  I have an old dictionary that has fallen apart and I used strips from moon-based definitions and inked with tea dye Distress Ink.  I inked both parts of the journal page with vintage photo and chipped sapphire Distress Inks before wrapping the bottom page with twine. I wrote the dictated part of the page with a black marker.  I am entering this at the 31 Days of Halloween Hop + Challenge hosted by LeighSBDesigns!  All the details and linky party are HERE!

Challenge: Oct. 28th The 31 Days of Halloween, 2021

I have to admit when I saw the sentiments I used tonight with the cats; I thought about cats and 9 lives and maybe normal 3 cats ago that way.  Then I saw Leigh's post with these and it made much more sense to me that the person/witch was probably normal 3 cats ago!!!😼  Cats are such complex creatures!!!

This is flip hanging card (I made that up) using Wicked Witch and Hissy Cat,  Furness Forest Faerie Ring,  Black Cat Set Sentiments and  Once Upon a Moonlit Night Colourize It. All by the faBOOlous LeighSBDesigns!  And there is still time to catch the sale HERE!

I never through away any left over pieces after assembling a SVG so thanks to that I had extra kitties (thanks Susan R. again for the stacked cats) and two parts of the Wicked Moon for a hanger!  This one is off the 31 Days of Halloween Blog + Challenge hosted by LeighSBDesigns!  All the details and linky party are HERE!

Midway Post for Ike's World Challenges #148

It's that time again!  Midway time for Ike's World Challenges #148 Anything Goes/ Fall or Autumn!  We have actually had about 5 days here and there when the humidity was down a bit and it was heavenly!  To celebrate the eventual arrival of fall I made a wall hanging using Ike's gorgeous Leaves Set!   

Steps:

1. Print out leaves in 3 x 5 size on yellow, red and tan cardstock

2.  Sponge Distress Inks on the leaves and cut out

3. Use Cricut Design Space for sentiment and use Cricut to cut out

4. Glue everything on sheet of designer paper

SUYP Cat Lovers Challenge for August!

It is a cat's life on this rocker card with a lovely butterfly saying hello to this cute pair!

My first ever rocker card using the instructions from the Butterfly Challenge which was so kindly linked in Susan R's blog this week!  I got so involved with making this I forgot about the colors and ribbon I needed to use to enter the Butterfly Challenge but that just means I get to make another one! The total plus side to having a kitty themed rocker card is getting to scurry over to Ike's Show Us Your 

Pussycats Cat Lovers Challenge #69 Anything Goes!  The kitties and sentiment are freebies from a craft magazine and the butterfly is cut with a freebie die cut from another craft magazine!
