Last One for the Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   This is the last one I promise!  This is a Hetty Clare Art image "Beach Hut".  I overestimated my ability to crank out projects but this image needed to join this blog hop!
I had picked up a pack of pastel cardstock that turned out to be copy paper when I opened it tonight.  Sad me!  But not to be outdone I used it....glue crinkles and all!  Prismacolor pencils, Spectrum Noir markers, white acrylic paint, green Stickles patterned paper, and watercolors....I threw the whole work table at this one!  Thanks for the kind comments and visits!

Day 30 Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!  I am sad to see day 30 roll around 😿. I have had a rip roaring good time playing with this theme and visiting so many inspiring blogs!  But it is here and I am officially ending with a sentiment I hope everyone remembers....Bee Yourself!
This precious image is ZenBEE Oddleigh set and the sentiment is from the Oddleigh BEE set and both are by our awesome sauce hostess Leigh at LeighSBDesigns!  The sale ends in about 8 hours from now Leigh's time so run and add to your collection!  I colored her with Prismacolor colored pencils and the flowers and bees with Distress Inks and a qtip.  I used a honey comb die cut and layered it over some yellow, gold, and orange Gelatos.  I glued her directly to the page after some really bad fussy cutting and foam popped the flowers individually and the little bee by her head.  The sentiment and some of the little honey comb pieces I just glued to the back layer.   Thanks for all the hard work Leigh puts into these blog hops and for really giving us a creative outlet during these very trying times!  Hugs and love to Leigh!
P.S. I am playing sooo much Animal Crossing on the Switch my wonderful daughter bought me for my birthday!  (Giphy image)

Day 29 Summer Buzz Blog Hop!

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   Don't you just love rummaging to find one thing and then finding a bunch of things you forgot you had?  That has happened to me a lot the past two weeks and today turned up some patterned paper that worked perfectly with one of the stack of colored images I have ready!
This image is a freebie at Stamplorations and ironically? I found the papers while looking for my 5 brand new, never been opened stencils from Stamplorations!  Oh well, Coffee and Flipflops does look nice with the found papers!  I colored the image with Prismacolor colored pencils and fussy cut out.  I mixed white acrylic paint with gloss medium by Golden Paints to make the delicious foam on the coffee.  The rest including the sentiment were all the patterned papers.  Some glue and mermaid lagoon Distress Ink were also used.  I couldn't find the right link to the image at Stamplorations so I linked to the store. Click HERE for the Summer Buzz Blog Hop if you would like to hop to the fabulous entries!

Night Creatures Part 2: Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!  I bet you thought I just had one rambling post about the beautiful, summer night creatures where I live and just stopped at the fireflies!  I again don't blame you cause it does sound like something I would do!  But here comes the other side of gorgeous flying creatures and they ain't so gorgeous in my book!  Part 2:  The Mosquitos!
These guys are made a whole lot cuter by Scribbles Designs!  As they bite and fest on my blood, they look pretty gruesome to me!  I felt driven to express this in art form and where better than a Summer Buzz Blog Hop😆 !   I used two freebies from Scribbles Designs, the Mosquito and Moon and Stars. This piece of cardstock was just lying in a drawer all painted and splattered up nicely!  I glued it to a Dylusions journal page.  The mosquitos are colored with Spectrum Noir markers with the red in their tummies added with candied apple Distress Ink on a qtip.  I used a makeup foam to add fossilized amber Distress Ink on the moon and stars.  The sentiment might look familiar....it appeared on the Oddball Art skull cocktail and the little liquid drops on it reminded me of blood so here it is! Glued them all on the party night sky for a good time!  Have a fabulous, bite-free evening and click HERE!

Another Day?? Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   Posting another quick one before my bedtime!   Bugaboo Stamps has this darling image, Flamingo Sand? in their freebie section!  That's right ...freebie!
The sentiment is from the Plumeria Lei Marci digi stamp set by La-La Land Crafts, I had it waiting to be colored up so I grabbed it! Either my camera is getting wonky late at night or I am 😜 with the scissors!  Colored with Spectrum Noir markers and popped onto an embossed piece of paper and the sentiment popped up on foam dots!  Done and dusted!  I am really not sure what date this should be so I am not even guessing :)   Click HERE to join in the blog hop!

Flying Monkeys and Witches, Oh My!

Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity is nearing the end of its Background Forward Challenge.  I immediately went to the Flying Monkeys at Carmen's Veranda and the flying Witches Background stamp at Lost Coast Designs Rubber Stamps.  Two of my all time favorites!   They really need nothing added to them to make me laugh and still be a bit afraid as I remember the scenes in the movie!
All I needed were my stamps and speaking of stamps, I used the Old Typewriter Alphabet set for the sentiment!  Some glue and foam dots and it was ready to fly away!  Now I must fly and drop this is the challenge before the night fades away!

Day 28th Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   I have been so inspired this blog hop by my fellow hoppers!  I am visiting ATC's again and having a blast!
The images are by LeighSBDesigns and are in the Busy Bees Collage and Sentiment set!  The cool sale is on till the 30th so go grab a few at a great price!  I printed the busy bees background twice and die cut into rectangles.  I wanted a color combo I don't usually use and the color wheel suggested aqua, pink. and yellow.  I colored all of the bees and flowers on the bottom rectangle with three shades of aqua's with the Prismacolor colored pencils.  The next rectangle I colored in pinks and the solo bee in yellows.  I colored the backgrounds in both layers yellow.  I inked a white piece of cardboard with mermaid lagoon Distress Ink and glued the bottom rectangle to it.  I lined up the images on the top layer of pink to match that.  I added the bee and the sentiment (also inked with Distress Ink) with foam dots.  A bit of white gel pen on  the eyes and easey peasey all ready to swarm!  You really will be inspired by visiting the blogs represented in this hop and might want to enter for the last two days.....who knows???  Just click HERE and be transported to blog central headquarters 😎

Day ?? Extra Post for Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   Bet you thought for sure I wouldn't be back tonight! 😉  To tell the truth I wasn't too sure if I would make it!  This image by Oddball Art reminded me of the fantastic piratey drinks we always got at Margaritaville Casino now no casino but a really awesome resort hotel in Biloxi right on the beach!  Ahh, nice and summery!  This is about an hour and a half from my home :)
Huge Jimmy Buffett fan and who doesn't like a fruity, fun cocktail?  Of course, the virus stopped our trips to the resort and game arcade where we loved to play and I am still not risking going out so this cocktail is the closest I can get to Margaritaville fun!
This was the MEMBERS EXCLUSIVE JUNE 2020 Creepy Cute Chronicles "Hello Summer" at Oddball Art..  Again I colored on kraft paper with the Prismacolor colored pencils, fussy cut the elements and glued onto some patterned paper and popped the sentiment on some more paper and attached with foam.  I added the first panel to the same patterned paper and was all done!   I am off to bed!  Sweet dreams of the Summer Buzz Blog Hop!

June 27th Summer Buzz Blog Hop and Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   Another double duty post for tonight with a beautiful freebie by Hetty Clare at the Outlawz Freebie/Progressive Challenge for June that I will also be adding to the Summer Buzz Blog Hop hosted by the fantastic, awesome LeighSBDesigns!!  This image is Pony Plait and I do love it!  I have a 25 year old mare named Asia so this image just spoke to me!  I really was going to do two different posts (and I still might add another project to the hop tonight) but this image goes with the summer theme quiet well I think!
I colored these little darlings with my Prismacolor colored pencils, adding a bit of a flower garden below them and cut out the sentiment with a Tim Holtz's die.  I ran the kraft paper and a strip of patterned paper through an embossing folder before gluing the image backed with another designer paper on top.  This was a fun image to color!  Thanks to Jacqui at the Outlawz for helping me get back into the swing of things there!  Come on.....three days left for both the Summer Buzz Blog Hop and the Outlawz Freebie/Progressive Challenge!  P.S.  I was looking through some links to Hetty Clare Art and found this wonderful challenge, Creative Knockouts, that is being sponsored by Hetty Clare also!  As I used my one of my favorite color combinations: Peach, tan, and burgundy; I decided to pop this in that challenge, too!

June 26th Just Chillin'

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!  I caught the ATC fever from my blog hop friends who have made such wonderful ATC's!  I also wanted to enter the Clever Dexter Challenge and wanted to use an image by Oddball Art, who happens to be sponsoring at Clever Dexter!  Looking for a beach bum kinda image, imagine my squeal of delight when I saw the super kawaii, Chubs the panda 🤭!
I rushed him to the photo editing program and drew the sand right beneath his cute little self!  I added the clouds and sun and typed up the sentiment.  I colored with Spectrum Noir markers and instead of picking up a True Blue 2, I started coloring away with an IB 2 (you can see how that may have happened I am sure! :)  So the sky is actually showing how hot it is in my little plot of the world....yep, a slightly greenish tint means hot as heck!  I used a white acrylic paint pen to fluff up my clouds and add a little fluffy to Chubs!  Then I glued onto some black cardstock and used pop dots for the sentiment.  A beach bum panda bear seems to fit the Summer Buzz Blog Hop theme so I am adding him to Leigh's blog, too!

I will simply reveal Summer Fun Mermazing Style!
No, you are not having visual disturbances; it is a wonky cut card!  Long story, again, so fast forward to supplies!  The image is Meri Oddleigh Mermaid and Friends by our hostest with the mostest, LeighSBDesigns!  Sale alert...still fantastic sale going on!  I colored them all up with Prismacolor colored pencils and fussy cut her friends to join her for a summer swim.  I am working my way through my Kit and Clowder lessons and this one on mermaids and water was a lifesaver! June 24th Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!   Another quickie tonight!  Here in south Mississippi we have some spectacular night creatures and heat!  The heat can only be portrayed as soooo hot and humid it  feels like a thick gumbo but not nearly as tasty!   The fireflies we have are truly beautiful to behold here!  I followed one the other night until I fell in a hole :) as it lit its way across the field!  So my next page for my art junk journal is dedicated to the fireflies or lighting bugs as we call them 😼.
The fireflies are a freebie from Scribbles Designs and the hanging lightbulbs are by Oddball Art from CCC#9 You light up my life.  I colored with the Prismacolors and tried to give everything a shine.  I added some white gel pen highlights here and there.  A piece of scrap paper represents the fields.  A few drops of glue to hold it together and we are done!   I hope you will come play along with us HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog where the Summer Buzz Blog Hop is hosted!

Day 11? Summer Buzz Blog Hop

Click on the link above or HERE to see all the details on the blog hop and then just follow a few simple rules and drop your project off so you can be in the running for some fab prizes from LeighSBDesigns!  Quick post tonight!  Here is a beach scene for my art junk journal I am starting (explains the non-backed card.....well, at least this time it does 😜 )
From All Dressed Up, the image Summertime!  I couldn't find this image in the store so I linked up to the whole store.  I used Prismacolor colored pencils on the closest paper I had to kraft paper which is a lot yellowish.  I love using colored pencils on kraft paper; the colors just pop so nicely!  I drew some sand which is kinda lost in the yellowish background and added some water coming in at the edge with my colored pencils.  I added a bit of foam/sprinkles/droplets? with a white gel pen.  Then glued to some papers and punched some circles to make a sun and glued in the corner.  Join the fun HERE at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog for the Summer Buzz Blog Hop!

I used the Honeybees image with one of the sentiments and colored up with Prisma colored pencils.  I added some mowed lawn Distress Inks and some water drops or blobs as if happens for the background and edged the sentiment before popping on with pop dots!  I used a white gel pen for their cute little eyes!  I had so much fun coloring this and I had just finished my Kit and Clowder monthly coloring class bonus lesson that featured a honeypot and bees!  Now that worked out awesome for me, yes it did!  So craft, blog, link up HERE  and repeat until midnight Leigh's time, June, 30th!

Sexy Vampire Cat for Ike's SUYP Challenge

We all know how many labels exist today for most all of the Earth's good creatures.  I am sharing one of those tiny creatures who is rebelling against the label that somehow attaches itself to almost all vampires.  Yes, the label sexy....I blame it on those dreadful movies that had them sparkle like diamonds on acid for the problem!  Poor Catular, a fabulously charming image by Ike's Art, just isn't feeling like living up to that daunting label!
You can just see how much he is trying to shake that pesky problem, can't you?😼  Well, he might be playing up a bit for the camera with his velvet cloak all lined with red and those shiny, glistening teeth all bared!  I used the image Catular, of course!, and colored him up with Prisma colored pencils.  The quote is from Brainy Quotes and to be honest I haven't a clue who Joe Gilgun is but I do love this quote!   Catular is layered up with some papers, lace, and diamonds ( I couldn't resist!) with some candied apple Distress Ink edging him up.  I stapled the lace and faux diamonds on the cardstock and added some gloss to those gorgeous eyes, mouth, and teeth.
I am entering him at Show Us Your Pussycats Challenge #55 where all your kitty cat projects will find a place to shine!

June's Midway Post for Ike's World Challenges

It is time for some fun and games with Ike's World Challenges #133 - R is for Round or Dots/Anything Goes. You can play the theme or as always, Anything Goes at Ike's!   I hope you all grab some crafty thingies and jump right in the middle of the fun!
I am using the most playful, joyful Sockies!  I admit I fell under their spell right away and knew I had to "build" a home for them!  With the help of my lovely daughter,  I used a couple of images from a stock image site and she resized them up for me!
We (by that I mean she did it 😼) added the banner with their names in Photoshop and printed a cute backdrop for them.  Alas, the backdrop image is not showing up in the main photo but I did take a pic to prove it was there!
The sun always shines for the Sockies!  Their humble home is built upon a cereal box.  And just to give you a good chuckle.....I sealed it up without adding the backdrop and had to tear it open to pop it back in!  Trials of an aging crafter!  I did so enjoy working with these wonderful images by our fabulous Ike's Art!  She always has just the right image for just about any occasion and I love working with her sooo much!  And here is proof of the box :)
I used the image Sockies by Ike's Art, Spectrum Noir markers, and some glue to make this wee little fun project!  If I had little ones about I would cut out the back and put the Sockies on pop sticks so they could stage their own productions!
Put your best sock forward and whip up a project to link up HERE at Ike's World Challenges!  We can't wait to hop by your blog and visit for a spell!  Stay safe and practice social distancing, ok?
