LeighSBDesigns Challenge #10 Too Cute to Spook!

The excitement begins, the tingle starts up the spine and you walk into the living room and find this!!  You know it is that most wonderful time of the year....Halloween!   Imagine my surprise when I looked up and there was my lovely doll and a spider from Minecraft with a skelly on his back 💀and they are enjoying a Korean dolgona coffee from the Furness Forest!  Well, it happened and after my initial squeal of fright I began dancing around the house shouting "Halloween" 👻  I was so glad this event occurred on the very first day of the brand new Challenge #10 Too Cute to Spook at LeighSBDesigns!  To prove my story, photographic evidence!

Note:  I am about to dispel some of the mystery around this magical happening!  Leigh has some faBOOlous apothecary labels in her new Halloween collection "Shadows Rising" and Set 2 of the Furness Forest Apothecary Labels has this spooktastic Potions label plus 5 more equally creepy labels!  That's all I am saying on this whole amazing matter!  My only question was where is my dolgona?  You guessed it....they forgot!  Well I guess it was trick for me with no treat!  Here's a close up of the awesome apothecary label!

I printed the label on kraft cardstock, fussy cut and inked with Distress Ink.  So easy and so fun to let my imagination run wild for bit!  The wonderful moons are part of the  "Once Upon a Nightmare" Halloween 2021 Collection by LeighSBDesigns!  The mysterious shadow faerie at the bottom leads to this year's collections so visit LeighSBDesigns and get your spook on!

For your treat today I will share the secret of how to make this lovely dolgona coffee!  Take three tablespoons of instant coffee, three tablespoons of sugar and three tablespoons of hot water.  The YouTube viral video said to beat with a whisk for four minutes.  I soon learned a hand mixer accomplishes the delicious foamy mixture a lot faster and easier!  Fill glass with ice, pour cold milk over the ice then dollop the coffee mixture on top and watch the magic happen!  I cheated a bit and added a scoop of ice cream (not healthy nor is the extra sugar I add when not using the ice cream!) to pop the top up a bit to show in the top of the cup.  Delicious!  Come play along at LeighSBDesigns Challenge #10 Too Cute to Spook!

The Outlawz Monday Greetings Sept. 26 Good Luck!

 Where did the last two weeks go???  Time for another Monday Greetings Challenge with The Outlawz!  Our super fantastic sponsor this month is Mirtillamente!  I had the great pleasure to work with "Le Pine: Margaret - Coffee" and you know she is drinking Pumpkin Spice coffee!

I used Procreate to make my card using the sketch from The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  The fall leaves paper and brick papers are mine that I made in Procreate with brushes and a photo.  I grabbed some journal elements from Paper Starr Studio Etsy titled "Fall Clip Art".  Procreate comes in handy when your crafting, computer and everything else in the house is in a different place!  Home renovations can tax one's patience!  Our required greeting this go around is "Good Luck" or something that goes along those lines and I used Fall Blessings for my greeting.  Do some play along with us at The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge and pick up a prize from Mirtillamente!  I am also playing along with this card at The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge!

The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge September 16th

Time for the Festive Friday Challenge at The Outlawz in our still brand new blog!  This time our amazing sponsor is LeighSBDesigns!  YAY!  Let's make some noise!

Our themes for this challenge are Christmas and Anything Goes!  I got to play with one of the cute MerMonsters Leigh released in the FantaSea Collection earlier this year!  I had some serious fun with Coral Balleigh MerMonster and Senti Set!  

I colored her and her treasured pearl up with Copics.  For the background I went with watercolors (regular and metallic) hoping for an effect I had gotten using acrylics.  Not as happy as I was with the acrylic one but absolutely love the water splashes on the top of the water that I accidentally ended up with~ :)  Just some gold gel pen accents around the wording and it was ready to swim!  We hope you will come enter your Christmas or ANYTHING GOES projects so we can visit your blogs!                                                                                                                                    The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge

We were allowed to play with some faBOOlous images!  I used Spooky Cute Bed Sheet Ghosts and  the Creepy Cute Whimsical Halloween Haunted House!  My inspiration was "

This little guy is so cute but would totally scare me if I saw him on my stairs and then he wasn't there! :)   I colored the haunted house with Copics and inked around the yard with Distress Inks and drew in a few friends of this guy coming out the chimney with the smoke!  I colored the ghosty up with colored pencils cause they just pop on kraft cardstock!  I made the senti in Photoshop and cut a little tag and popped both ghosty and senti on the back layer!  Fun!  I do love this time of year! September with Through The Craft Room Door Challenge!

 It's lucky September 13th and time for another wonderful challenge at Through The Craft Room Door!  We are sponsored by DRS Rubber Stamps this go round!

I had a fun time working with "Happy Bee" and "BEE-cause You're Special" this month!  I feel a special closeness with bees bee-cause I have a huge honey bee hive/colony living in a tree trunk in my yard!  I can't even begin to guess how many are in the hive but it is a lot!  

I chose to make a two layered hidden pillar card that folds down for mailing.  Unfortunately I could not get a decent picture of it and I really tried!  I layered on metallic paper and gave the bottom layer a flower patterned paper for the bee to have lots of pollen to collect!  I colored everything up with Copics.  I hope to see you at our challenge where it is always Anything Goes so get those crafty bits and bobs out and join in the fun at Through The Craft Room Door Challenges!

Monday Greetings September 12th Halloween Greetings 🎃

 Here we go at The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge where the required greeting this time is Halloween Greetings with an optional twist to use black and white with a pop of color!  Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy!

I had a play with the ultra adorable Witches Hat image printed on my current obsession Kraft cardstock 👻.  I colored her up with colored pencils and made a mask so that I could ink around her with a mysterious Distress Inks swirl!  I made my sentiment in Photoshop and popped it up with some foam tape after layering the Kraft paper on some witchy purple metallic cardstock!  Do come along and play with us for a wonderful prize from our lovely sponsor!  Get those Halloween Greetings ready and pop on over to The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge!

It's my turn to host The Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes and we are going to be using a song by The White Stripes!  I watched some documentary type shows about this group with Noah and while a lot of their music wasn't my type this one song replayed in my head for weeks!  I bought the children's book when I found it to add to the family's music room!  The song is "We're Going to be Friends".

No secret what a huge fan I am on Leigh's and her always amazing digi stamps and SVG Cutz!  I am so excited to have a play with one of my all time favorite Christmas images "Christmas Chorus Frog" and yes, my favorites list is very, very long!

I colored the image with Copics and used watercolor paint around the image and Distress Ink around the edges of that.  Layered on some glitter paper and kraft paper (I am still obsessed with it) and using a sentiment from "A Charming Christmas Compendium of Festive Sayings"!  This little froggie croaks Christmas songs all year long!  We hope you will come play with us this two weeks at The Outlawz Festive Fridays Challenge!

September at Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges with Pattie's Creations!

Here we are in September!  Where has the year gone?  I can't say I am sad to see summer fading a bit though!  It has been a long hot wet summer!   However, it has been spectacular for dragonflies!  I have seen tiny, tiny dragonflies all the way up to some pretty huge dragonflies!  They are large enough I can see all the segments of the body and the eyes and head and for me to be able to see that ....well, they are big!😸 

 So that leads us to this month's theme at Paper Dragonflies Creative Challenges for September which is "Time Flies- Clock and Dragonflies"     You can make anything you want from cards to 3D pieces using clocks and dragonflies."  This month you must include a dragonfly; they are not optional for this month.  We are being sponsored by the awesome Pattie's Creations Etsy!  I used "Dragonflies Fly" for my project!

I have been smitten with my love of kraft cardstock again and can't seem to stop using it!  For this card I colored the image with Copics using a pale lavender for the background because this scene reminded me of Monet's waterlilies paintings.  I layered the cardstock on some patterned paper and fussy cut a couple of the envelopes to pop on foam dots by the sentiment.  I made the sentiment in Photoshop and printed on the cardstock before adding the colored image.  I used several different pops of color on the dragonflies cause the ones I have been seeing are so many different wonderful colors!  We hope to see you playing with us this month at Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges!  Many thanks to Pattie's Creations for sponsoring us!

September Paper a la Mode Challenge with The Outlawz!

 More September fun with The Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge!  We got to have a play with designs by our sponsor this month Vectoria Designs!  Thanks so much for sponsoring us and allowing us to show your work!  I used the Pumpkin Patch Digital Journaling Kit and my oh my, it is gorgeous and delightful!

I love fall, pumpkins and especially pumpkins of all shapes and colors!  I think some are called squash but by any name they are all spectacular!  I worked on the two journal pages as my beginning and just went crazy layering elements from the set in Photoshop!  This is earmarked to be a printed out journal when things get a little calmer around the old homestead!  We hope you can come and join us this month for The Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge where the theme is Fall into Adventure!  My adventure led me to the pumpkin patch!  Where will your adventure begin?

The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge for September!

 Hi, everyone and welcome to September!  Cooler days I am hoping and lots of time for fall crafting!  Here at The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge we are creating with Star Stampz!

The image we are using is "Autumn Fall Girl Reading" and what a beautiful digital image it is!  Thanks so much to Star Stampz for sponsoring us this month and supplying the image!

I colored the image with Copics and used watercolor paint for the background.  I layered that on red and inked all edges with Distress Ink.  The kraft bottom layer I used acrylic paints in orange, red, gold and yellows to paint leaf strokes and when dry I inked the veins with a gold gel pen.  I made the senti in Photoshop and added washi tape corners to leaf it up a bit more!  We hope you are playing along with us each month and if you need to sign up then all the info is at The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge!  Come join in the fun!
